AboutVillagers vs Wolves
What it is
Villagers vs Wolves is an automatic narrator for hidden-role and social-deduction games (the party-game genre known as “Werewolf” or “Mafia”), in which a group debates to uncover the impostors. It is an independent, free, non-profit project: no advertising, no charges and no selling of data.
It is open source under the MIT license: you can use it, copy it and modify it. The code is on GitHub, and there you can also set up your own copy by following the guide in the README.

Privacy
- There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- To play, a Firebase (Google) server stores your nickname, your card and the state of the game. It is deleted when the room is discarded and, automatically, after a few days.
- On your own device we store your preferences (name, voice, sound, language and display), a random player identifier and a copy of the website so that it loads faster and survives network outages. The tablet also stores, only in its browser, a history of the finished games (who played, with which role and who won); it can be exported and deleted, and it is not uploaded to any server.
- The website does not load code, fonts or images from third-party servers: everything is served from the site itself. The only external service is Firebase, to sync the game (and whoever hosts the website, who sees your IP address as on any web page).
- Don't write personal data in your nickname. Anyone who hosts their own copy is responsible for their own server.
